La Pocatière, Québec
July 1 to 19, 2019
Campus Saint-Jean is the University of Alberta’s French-speaking campus. Our program is held during the summer in La Pocatière, Québec, a quiet, rural, agricultural centre located along the St. Lawrence River, a totally French-speaking milieu.
In addition to its regular 5-week Explore Program for students aged 16-17, the Campus Saint-Jean now offers a 3-week program for Youth Aged 13-15. Taking place during the first 3 weeks of the regular program, this brand new program for younger students offers to participants the advantage of benefitting from almost 20 years of experience as well as a very large variety of free activities and extracurricular activities, excursions and private or group music and dance lessons (with extra fees).
Overview of the program
The schedule of classroom sessions, workshops, organized cultural and sporting activities maximizes the students’ exposure to the French language and culture to ensure an ideal learning experience. You will be charmed by the region's scenery and its most beautiful sunsets. Our program attracts sports enthusiasts as well as budding musicians. On the first day of the program, students will be assessed to ensure proper class placement. Qualified, experienced and friendly instructors work with students to achieve the proficiency expected at each level, from beginner to advanced.
Our Program offers all levels, from beginner to advanced. Placement tests are given on the first day of school and you are grouped by level into classes of approximately 20 people.
To be awarded a bursary, Canadian applicants must be attending school during the current school year and be at least 13 years old on the first day of the program. This program is offered to students aged between 13 and 15 years old.
