Bursaries are awarded through the Explore program by the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC).

For more information, please visit the Explore website:

Explore program participants receive a $3,850 (5 weeks program) and $2,740 (3 weeks program) bursary covering tuition fees for the course, instructional materials, meals, accommodation, and participation in all compulsory activities (please note that the bursary constitutes taxable income). The educational institution you will be attending will receive the bursary directly. Bursary students must however pay a non- refundable registration fee ($275) and are responsible for their personal expenses as well as the cost of optional activities, should they choose to participate in those.

How to apply?

Step 1:

Apply for the bursary through the Explore Program:

Application deadline: February 28, 2024 (postmark)

Fill out the Bursary application form and send it to your Provincial Coordinator. Please indicate "Campus Saint-Jean, University of Alberta" (course offered in La Pocatière, Québec) as your first choice when completing the application form.

Wait for your acceptance letter from your Provincial Coordinator in early April. (You might be put on a waiting list. If so, we will contact you as soon as your name appears on the list.)

Step 2:

Registration at the Summer immersion program.

If you receive a bursary, you will automatically receive registration information from us by e- mail. Check your junk mail in case our message was directed to this folder.

Return your application along with your registration fees. Hurry up! If you have not replied within five (5) days after being accepted, your bursary will be given to another applicant.
